The area to the south of here will (maybe) be a park someday. I
call it Teasel Park, but it doesn’t have an official name yet. It
is a joint venture of the Wood County Parks and the city of Bowling
Green. It is a wet lands much of the year and besides the scrub
trees here it grows giant 7ft. teasel, which is a tall prickly
plant. The seeds are an important winter food resource for some
birds, notably the European Goldfinch; teasels are often grown in
gardens and encouraged on nature reserves to attract them. The plan
is to build a boardwalk and maybe develop some shelters or gazebos.
With the bad economy, I think that is way in the future. border="0"
