Jews memorial in Kötcse The Jewish families predominated in the
economic life of Kötcse in the 18-19. century. Dyers, hatters,
butchers, blacksmiths, innkeepers, tailors were Jewish families in
Kötcse in the 18-19. century. They has furthered the development of
the village, and later they left, because Kötcse lies away from the
main roads. At the Holocaust, in 1944, only a few Jews lived in the
village. Kötcse has four Holocaust victims, and when the sole
survivor of the family, Somogyi (Singer) Paul returned to the
captivity no one has found. The Memorial is formed at a small place
in the village. Eternal Flame was lit for their memory, and a
memorial have been developed. Two plaques were also placed, one of
the marble plaque is the ancient synagogue monographic, on the
other the name of the four Holocaust victims.
