Sleptuve skirta LY2KW ažuolu serijai , beslepent sleptuve buvo atrastas idomus ženklas žymintis Žemaitijos ir Lietuvos pasieni, keista pasienio vieta... niekur neradau nieko apie ja...
Na apie ažuola:
Šis ažuolas, globojamas jau penktos Mingelu kartos, džiugina ne tik musu akis.
Šiuo legendiniu galiunu geredavosi rašytojas Juozas Tumas-Vaižgantas, kai stabteledavo pakeliui i Plunge bei rinkdavo medžiaga apie Gandingos piliakalni, kuri apraše savo kurinyje „Pragiedruliai“. Ažuolas patrauke ir M. K. Ciurlionio demesi, o garsus dainius Maironis ir eiles apie ji sukures.
Pasakojama, kad po Žemaitijos krikšto 1413 metais ažuolo viršune nupjauta ir joje ikelta koplytele
Senoliai vis dar pasakoja padavima apie šio ažuolo gimimo istorija...
Prie Minijos upes pakranciu kadaise gyvenes žilagalvis genties išmincius Petrunas ir augines našlaiti anukeli. Metu našta silpnino senelio sveikata. Žynys jam karta patares gerti stiprios ažuolo giliu arbatos. Seneliui, besidievagojanciam, kad nepajegs jis net giliu surinkti, pagalbon suskubo anukelis. Nepabuges senelio kalbu apie vilkus, jis nušuoliavo Minijos krantais i ažuolyna. Troškimas padeti seneliui buvo didesnis nei baime...
Deja, senelis, iškeliaves ieškoti pasiklydusio mylimo anukelio, ji rado...nebegyva, sudraskyta vilku. Kietai sugniaužtame delnelyje vaikelis laike didele ažuolo gile.
Sielvarto apimtas senelis tragedijos vietoje užkases ta gile ir tares:
- Auk didžiulis, audru, perkunu ir kitu nelaimiu nenugalimas!
Ir išaugo placiašakis ažuolas, prie kurio šventa ugnis degdavo, drevese senieji dievai gyveno, o vidurnakti apie ji gerosios laumes šokdavo...

This cache is dedicated to oak series by LY2KW. While hiding the cache I also found an interesting landmark symbolizing border between Lithuania and Samogitia (part of present Lithuania). Interesting border, but I couldn’t find any information about it…
Oak information:
Already the fifth generation of Mingelos takes care of this oak. This legendary giant used to be a delight for Lithuanian writer Juozas Tumas Vaizgantas, who used to stop by it on his way to Plunge and gather information about Gandingos hill fort (this hill fort was described in writer’s novel “Pragiedruliai”). Lithuanian artist and composer M.K.Ciurlionis also loved this oak, famous poet Maironis even wrote a poem about this tree.
People tell, that after christening of Samogitia in 1413, the top of the tree was cut down and a small chapel loaded there.
Old people still tell us a legend about this oak’s birth…
A long time ago an old white-headed Wiseman Petrunas used to live by the banks of river Minija. He had a grand son, an orphan. As the years went by, old man got weaker and weaker. The priest once advised him to drink a strong tea of oak acorns for healing. But the old man was too weak even to go for the acorns, so his grandson decided to help him. The boy went to the oak wood, despite scaring old man’s stories about wolfs. The will to help his grandfather was bigger then fright… Unfortunately, after some time old man also went to the forest to look for his grandson and found him dead, torn by wolves. The child was still squeezing a huge acorn in his fist… Distressed grandfather buried that acorn in the place of tragedy, saying such words: “Grow big, unconquerable by storms, thunders and other disasters!” And after some time a big wide-branched oak appeared, were sacred flame used to burn, holy gods used to live in his hollows and pixies used to dance around it at the midnights…
