Legend of the place of pilgrimage
As the legend tells us, the soldier of the imperator, Keresztély
Ailert, has dreamed at 1715 that the forest spring of Tét would
heal him from his illness. He wend there an took a bath in the
spring and got well. Due to this occasion a small chapel was built
and a copy of the painting of the Virgin Mary was put in.
The message of the wondrous healing attracted many pilgrims. Till
1744 the Barok church of Szentkút was built at the place of the
chapel.
The main pilgrim’s day is the 12. September, the name day of
Mary.
During daytime the door of the church is open normally, but you
can not enter the church totally.
At the back of the church on the right side you can find three
water tap where you can draw of water from the holy spring.
