Ammo Cans
Minnesota and Ammo cans go hand in hand, they are indestructible. I
got my first glimpse of one on a caching trip to Minnesota weeks
after I discovered the sport of Geocaching and ever since they have
held a special place in my heart. They are without a doubt a smart
cachers container of choice and here are five reasons why:
1) Nothing can take a beating like an ammo can. I once fell off
a cliff and landed on top of one shattering my GPS and a couple of
ribs but the can didn’t even dent.
2) They can hold a full drawer full of swag and still have room for
more.
3) An ammo can will lay in sub zero temperatures for months and
look like new in the Spring. I once came across one in February,
frozen solid in an old tree stump, had to get the tire iron out of
my car to chip it loose and then pry it open. No worse for the
wear.
4) They have been around along time and in my book that makes then
very valuable much like my husband.
5) Take a close look for one and you will see a very cute little
box hiding under a pile of sticks that anyone can find. They are
never rated any higher than a difficulty of 2 and that’s being
generous. A blind dog with no sense of smell could find one in a
storm buried under 1 foot of snow. I love them!
Good luck which I know you won't need, after all it is an ammo
can. Please include one thing you like about ammo cans in your log
if you feel inclined.
