Geocache Description:

"The North Mountain Trail offers hikers an opportunity for solitude and spectacular views as it winds its way along the Great North Mountain. This 14.5-mile trail, though steep in places, is suitable for day hiking, backpacking, and horseback riding. The trail passes just below Elliot Knob, one of the highest points on the National Forest, offering an open, panoramic view of the Deerfield Valley." US Forest Service web site

Whichever approach you choose in order to reach this cache, whether via USFS fire road, Falls Hollow Trail, North Mountain Trail, or a few others, be sure and go up to Elliott Knob after finding this geocache. The views are spectacular and worth the effort. Plan accordingly, bring plenty of water, some food, and some friends. Start early in the day so you can enjoy the shared experience. Hope you enjoy the area as much as I do.
