White Night Brights Mystery Cache

This cache has been archived.

mTn_biKer65: Checked and indeed the cache container is missing. Hopefully it was a muggle but my gut feeling has me thinking otherwise.

Unfortunate the trend seems to be to find night caches during the day as opposed to in the dark as was intended.

Clearing the map for something new.

Geocache Description:

White Night Brights

This cache is intended to be done at night with as many people and as many flashlights as possible for maximum effect.

From the posted coordinates if it's dark enough and with your flashlights assistance you should be able to see a white reflector just above head height in a tree. Once you've found the reflector move forward to that location and again using your flashlight look for the next reflector and repeat the process. Don't be afraid to move around slightly if required to see the next stage as leaf and tree cover can affect line of sight in some cases. I've spaced the reflectors roughly 15-20m apart so if you travel much more than that without seeing the next redirect it's probably best to return to the last known reflector and search again in case you've missed one of the few turns on the route.

You're going to continue moving from reflector to reflector until you see a tree with 3 reflectors. This is your ground zero where the cache is located. Good luck.

The cache route is roughly 315m from the posted coordinates and will require multiple course changes enroute to the cache. Once you've found the cache, signed the log and made your trades there's a few options for returning safely to the posted coordinates and your vehicle. One option is you'll notice that the white reflectors you followed to the cache location are red reflectors on the reverse side. You could take the reverse route and with your flashlights follow the red reflectors back to the posted coordinates.

For safety do not geocache alone at night. Groups with a minimum of two adults are recommended. No one enjoys flashlights at night like kids (and I do) so I've marked the cache as kid friendly but please take care and keep an eye on the kids when walking the trails after dark.

Happy Caching!!!
