Delta Force Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Calypso62: It's now time to say farewell to this cache hide. I am no longer in the area and would find it difficult to maintain it so I've decided to archive the listing and open the area up for another cacher to place a hide.

Thank you to all those who came to this lovely part of the lake in search of Delta Force. It is certainly a beautiful spot.

Geocache Description:

We all flick on lights, watch TV, toast our bread, use our computers and operate a multitude of other devices without giving any thought as to where all that power actually comes from. Well, when you find this cache you will be able to find out for yourself where and how some of this energy is made. Have a look across the lake and check out the stash note and take some time to add to your knowledge.

There are two ways to access GZ:
1. Park at Sandy Beach at the end of Kullaroo Rd, Summerland Point, to begin your hunt. This is a great area with parking, toilets, picnic areas and swimming in an enclosed area of the lake. From here, the easy, flat and open walk to GZ is approximately 750m of dirt track which follows the foreshore. At times, you may think you are walking on private property. However, this is all public reserve. Terrain = 2
2. If you prefer a bushier and a more secluded entry, there’s a track off Cams Bvd Rural that will also take you to GZ. Park your car at S33° 08.749, E151° 33.703. This is a pretty trek through the reserve. It is a tad more hilly with a log to hop over. It's probably a similar distance in. Terrain = 3

This cache is ideal for geokids of all ages and geodogs on a leash.

This should be an easy find. Enjoy the hunt.

Just a word of warning about Razor Clams. Make sure you wear shoes when splashing around in Lake Macquarie. Why? Have a look at this website..... (visit link)
