This is a great area for hiking in the foothills northwest of Slovenia. There is a nice variety of trails to choose from, and the views of Dolina Koritnice and the views are beautiful!
Be sure to take a walk along the Kotitnica trail. Strart you journey in Log pod Mangartom (it take cca 2h), or drive a litlle more closer along Koritnica ( cca 1h) Cache is a few kilometers (intentionally not specific) hike. Terrain is typical of mountain trails, but not too steep. Terrain should not be a problem for kids. When you reach the spot , on the left side you will see hunting hut , on right side a big rock. Check the nord side of it. There are several campgrounds located around Bovec if you're so inclined. Note that you must obtain an overnight permit from the National Park Service. . Please hide the cache well... It should not be seen without close inspection!
