Cache is a small vitamin bottle with some cub badges in it. No room for big items but TBs and badges should be OK. Think small or flat and "foldable" items for any trades. Enjoy the hike.
I finally had a chance to go and grab the Mt. Empress cache. Big Badger and a friend joined me on this rather long hike. When Big Badger arrived at my house he mentioned that he was taking a cache to hide so I grabbed a couple of caches to bring along as well. Unfortunately I did not think to grab some FTF prizes for the caches. I did have an unactivated geocoin so I put in in one of the caches. The problem is that I am not sure which one. It could be in "Enjoy the Flat", "Valley of Wheeze" or "I can do this ... in one day."
Parking is available just outside of the Sooke Pothole Gates.
This cache is the first one on the route that we took to the top of Mount Empress. The first part of the hike seemed to be all up hill so I was glad to get to this part of the hike as it was much flatter. Kids should be able to do this hike. Terrain rating may vary depending on how you access the cache.
Checked the coordinates on the way back and they seem fine. Look up as I hid the cache in a little hidey hole over my head just off the trail. There are few options in this area.
