Molino vivienda situado en la parroquia de Zamanes en Vigo
A unos diez kilómetros del centro urbano de Vigo, se encuentra la parroquia de Zamáns, en el punto más alto del valle del Fragoso, al pie del monte Galiñeiro. En esta parroquia conviven la modernidad, representada por el innovador complejo universitario proyectado por Enric Miralles, y lo tradicional, como lo muestran sus hórreos, fuentes, lavaderos y molinos. Entre los molinos destaca, por su interés y monumentalidad, o muiño de maquías que se encuentra muy cerca de los aliviaderos del embalse que fue en tiempos la reserva de agua para la ciudad de Vigo y sigue hoy en servicio para ayuntamientos limítrofes.
Vale la pena visitar esta vivienda/molino, construcción rural de hermosa factura. En toda la provincia de Pontevedra y en general en Galicia existen multitud de molinos, algunos restaurados, la mayor parte abandonados, pero este de Zamáns es uno de los más interesantes y atractivos. Maquía es la denominación en gallego de maquila, que es o era, tal como reza el diccionario de RAE, la porción de grano, harina o aceite que corresponde al molinero por la molienda.
Tiene muy fácil acceso. Desde la carretera Gondomar-Porriño, casi frente al polígono industrial de Vincios, hay un poste indicador al embalse y, a pocos metros, se encuentra el molino en la intercesión del PR-G1 y el GR-53.

Mill in the parish house located in Vigo Zamanes
About ten miles from the center of Vigo, is Zamánes parish, in the highest point Fragoso valley at the foot of Mount Galiñeiro.
