What is a "Flash Mob" Event? A "Flash Mob" is a gathering of
Geocachers, only 15 minutes in length! No more, no less. Cachers
arrive at a predetermined location at exactly a predetermined time
and perform an activity (Usually something silly) then disperse
after exactly 15 minutes. What is a "World Wide Flash Mob" Event (
WWFM ) A "World Wide Flash Mob" Event is when hundreds of events
happen all around the World at precisely the same time. For
example: an event will be happening in London, England at 6:00 PM (
London Time ) and an event will be happening at the same moment in
San Francisco, Calif. at 10:00 AM PST. Everyone must sign the
logsheet during the 15 minutes to get credit for this event! This
Flash Mob Geocache event will last exactly 15 minutes – not a
second longer. You MUST be present and each individual must sign a
log sheet DURING this time to claim this event. What to bring:
Anything and everything geocaching. Bring your GPS, a pen or
pencil, your swag, travel bugs, travel/geo-dogs, bison tubes, pen
lights, personalized STUFF, and whatever else. Also, if anyone has
a sign or banner, or would like to make one, this would be great
for the picture! ITINERARY: 12:45PM - 12:59 PM - Participants wait
patiently and/or stroll around the area. STAY AWAY from ground zero
until exactly 1pm. Best as you can, act like a muggle, pretend not
to know each other or give any indication that something is about
to happen. Keep all things geocaching, especially your GPS, out of
sight at this point. At 12:59 PM slowly begin to move towards
ground zero. 1:00 PM – The Fun Begins! A ammo can will be placed
and everyone will converge right at ground zero, revealing all of
their geocaching-garb. Log slips will be handed out - Bring your
own pen or pencil. Sign individual log slip and drop it in the ammo
can/collection box. Next - turn to someone close by and “swag swap”
or trade “trackables” if you so chose. There may also be a bucket
to drop trackables. 1:08 PM – Group picture takes place. Listen
carefully and follow all directions given by photographer quickly
as to where to line up. 1:12 PM - The event meal will be held
(Hersey's Kisses most likely) and mingling can take place. The FTF
name drawing will be held. Other prize drawings may happen
(depending upon donations/interest). 1:14 PM - One minute warning
is called "It is now 1:14!" Prepare to leave. Organizers seal up
log container for transport. 1:15 PM EXACTLY – Everyone disperse
immediately, as if nothing ever happened! Meet ELSEWHERE if
desired. 1:30 Optional: Meet at American Flatbread for a great big
meal together. Caching groups can leave from here afterward and
grab a few caches before the daylight is gone. **PLEASE INDICATE IF
