Geocache Description:

One of the 100 of Japanese villages

You can see a view at Yagawa integrity area like as the song of "Spring Brook".
Underflow water flows into the brook. Not only killifish and loach but also some valuable living things as Giant water bug(Lethocerus deyrollei), Water scorpion(Laccotrephes japonensis) and so on used to be found everywhere in Japan but have been hardly seen now have lived.
These living things have been kept by local farmers and residents as Groundwork activity, and this scenery was selected to "the 100 of Japanese villages" by Asahi newspaper.
You can also see White Heron and Grey Heron. If you are lucky, you can see some valuable birds, Common Kingfisher, Crested Kingfisher or Owl. And you can see many Firefly fly in early summer night.

This cache are put in the upper reaches of the integrity area.

谷川保全地は,「春の小川」の歌のような風景です。
小川には湧水が流れ込み,メダカやドジョウだけでなく,タガメやタイコウチなど,以前はどこででも見られたものの,現在では,ほとんど見られなくなった貴重な動植物が生息しています。
それらは,地元の農家や地域住民によるグラウンドワーク活動によって守られており,その風景は,朝日新聞などによる「にほんの里100選」の一つに選ばれています。

ここでは,シラサギやアオサギのほか,運がよければカワセミやヤマセミ,フクロウなどの貴重な鳥類も見ることができます。
また,初夏の夜には,多数のホタルが飛んでいるのを見ることができるでしょう。

このキャッシュは保全地の上流側に設置しました。
