ZhanTianYou----The farther of China's
railway .
Zhan Tianyou is born in 1861. He is the first
Chinese railway engineer. At 11, he becomes one of the first kids
to study in America. When he is 18 years old, he goes to study at
Yale University. From 1905 to 1909, he builds China's first
railway — Beijing-Zhangjiakou Railway. Today, you can see the
railway and the statue of the famous engineer at QinglongQiao
railway station near Badaling Great Wall in
Beijing.
JingZhang Railway(JingBao today)---The
first railway of China.
Jingzhang railway was constructed between 1905 and 1909,
connecting Beijing with Zhangjiakou. [1] This section was the first
railway designed and built by Chinese. The chief engineer is Jeme
Tien Yow (Chinese pinyin: Zhan Tianyòu). He overcame the steep
gradient near Badaling using a switchback. Due to his achievement
in constructing this railway, Zhan (Jeme) is called the father of
China's railway.The railway was extended from Zhangjiakou to Hohhot
by 1921 and to Baotou by 1923.

Badaling National Forest Park---A

red leaves
with whole mountain.
The Badaling Forest Park is next to the Badaling Great
Wall, and the leaves in the park turn red about half a month
earlier than that in the urban Beijing. People can find the whole
mountain is covered all over by colorful leaves. The Great Wall is
also overshadowed by green cypresses and red maples. The red
leaves scenic area occupies an area of 65 hectares. The altitude
there is 500 meters higher than downtown Beijing, making the place
cooler in autumn and the leaves here are easier to turn red. People
find that late September to October as the best time to see red
leaves in the Badaling Mountain.
