Geocache Description:

Quick park & grab for trackables. Use stealth after you figure out the combo clue and examine contents several feet away or in your car to avoid muggle detection since it's right out in the open. The cache is on private property with permission, so those searching for it won't be concerned that they might be trespassing as long as you stay away from any buildings.

This cache is dedicated to the things 5th & 6th graders want to know. One tradition in our 5th & 6th grade class is sharing a King Cake the first week of January.

The coming of the wise men bearing gifts is celebrated twelve days after Christmas. This is referred to as the Feast of the Epiphany or Little Christmas on the Twelfth Night. A popular custom was and still is baking a special cake called "A King's Cake." Inside every cake is a tiny baby. The person who receives the slice of cake with the baby is asked to continue the festivities by hosting the next King Cake party. King cake recipes have evolved. Many are unique but they all should be in the shape of a crown topped in the traditional Mardi Gras colors of purple, green and gold. The meanings of the colors are Purple for Justice, Green for Faith, and Gold for Power. The Twelfth Night after Christmas is also the day Mardi Gras Season begins. Mardi Gras Day is always 47 days prior to Easter Sunday (Fat Tuesday or Shrove Tuesday is always the day before Ash Wednesday).
Each year near Shrove Tuesday we cook pancakes in class as this was a traditional way to use up fat and rich ingredients that would spoil if people tried to keep them the full 40 days of Lent. (For an interesting additional tradition, look up the pancake races and the current competition between the cities of Liberal KS and Olney England.

If you have insight into an interesting tradition that would interest and be appropriate for a 5th &6th grader feel free to share it in your log. Or you could just post a photo of yourself eating your favorite cake.

This cache is used to launch Travel Bugs whose travels are monitored by the class. There was one resident coin that was to stay in the cache but it got muggled...a photocopy is there so you can still discover it.

Having to change the lock again after people repeatedly changed the combination either as a prank or accidentally. Making the change to puzzle below so if this lock gets disabled I can simply replace with a revised clue.

For 3 number combo think of book numbers: Right Genesis, left Obadiah, right Lamentations.
