Sadie's Halloween Cache Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

TheRag&BonesOutfit: After an extensive search we have to conclude that this cache has vanished. We did encounter a pack of bored teens in the area and can only assume that it wasn't as "off-the-beaten-path" as we had hoped. Thanks to all the encouraging comments from everyone who enjoyed this cache.

Geocache Description:

Located on Murder Creek, this ammo can can be found near Akron Falls. Parking can be found at: N43 00.930 W 078 28.958
Head towards N43 00.855 W078 28.909
The terrain starts out smooth and gets a bit more difficult towards the end. Our 11-year-old was able to navigate this, but it may be too difficult for very young children. The difficulty levels for this cache were hard to judge, so if anyone has any feedback on this let us know.

On Halloween in 1890 Sadie McMullen took Nellie May and Delia to the store to get some butter, the rest is Akron history.
This Halloween cache was placed in honor of this local legend. Sadie committed her crime on Halloween, four years after her mother's strange death on another Halloween. After some research we picked this location as representing this story. If anyone is aware of the actual location of Jebb's bridge, we would love to know it. The cache is an .30mm ammo can, full of Halloween/horror goodies. The FTF gets their choice of the included horror DVD's.

Congrats to GadgetCHC for the FTF!! We're glad this was found we were starting to think we had got too clever ;)

And Congrats to Team JL for pure perseverance!

We went out after a few of the DNF comments and moved the cache so that it was no longer underwater, make no mistakes its cold this time of year. It can still be found at the same coordinates It WAS very accessible just 2 weeks ago, but the new location is easier to find to compensate for the seasonally varying terrain. Sorry for the frustration of not finding the submersible cache (we swear, we have photographic evidence that it was not placed underwater ;) Good Luck and stay dry.
