The cache is a ammo can, located a short distance from the barn.
First a little background. This park or property of approx. 40 acres was given a favorable acquisition rating, in April 1999, by the Helena Open Space Bond Advisory Commission. In May 1999 the Helena City Commission approved the purchase of this property from the Donaldson family. Five years later, Sep 2004, the park was annexed into the City of Helena.
The property was purchased to provide open space recreational opportunities for area residents. Development plans include a hiking trail, day use shelter (barn) and a folfe course.
We suggest you park at the cul-de-sac at the end of Early Bird Drive, N46 34.246, W111 58.969, and walk the 500 feet up the graded gravel road to the barn. The road is rather narrow and there is not any parking space available at the barn.
Be aware of the muggles and folfes.
