Das Kaiserin-Auguste-Viktoria-Gymnasium (KAVG) hat 200 Jahre Schulentwicklung miterlebt: Aus den Wurzeln einer „höheren Töchterschule" (gegründet 1805) ist ein allgemeinbildendes Gymnasium mit Musikzweig und dem Namenszusatz „Europaschule" als offene Ganztagsschule entstanden, in der seit 1969 Jungen und Mädchen gemeinsam unterrichtet werden.
