Geocache Description:

Husholmi is thought to been form after the "Ögmundarhrauns" lavafield in 1151.

The cache is not near any of the archeological remains that can be found in Husholmi.

Husholmi is thought to been form after an eruption in 1151 for which the lavafield is named "Ögmundarhraun".

The cache is not near any of the archeological remains that can be found in Husholmi.

In the southern part is a path from an old wall towards the west where the remains of the old Krysuvik farm can be observed as well as a boatshaped remains which the lava has passed through.

Samples taken from the site show that there was an established settlement there around 870 AD, but no formal archeological survey has been conducted by the government.
