Geocache Description:

A 30 cal. ammo box located not too far from the trail head.

This cache is just off the trailhead parking area for the Blue Hill Trail. It is a popular kick-off spot for hiking to Crane Pond (3.3mi.), Pharaoh Mt. (6.3mi.) and Pharaoh Lake (6.6mi.). the trailhead is located on Rt. 74 between Schroon Lake and Eagle Lake. You will be looking for a 30 cal. ammo. box and is an easy hide. It's suitable for trades and started with a log book with pen and pencil, a TB, a ball, a key chain, bandaids in case you want to do the hike, candles that could be used as fire starters, earrings, cards and a childs activity book. Some bushwacking off the trail is involved but it is near the beginning of the trail. There is no need to cross the bridge and stream but it's always fun to pause and look at it.
