Chuck Walla: Greetings from Geocaching.com!

Since you have not responded to my reviewer log about your cache, the cache has been archived.

Some time ago, I posted a note to your cache page requesting a response from you to post what you were planning to do with the cache on the page and to send me a note. I have no record of a response, and no response tells me that you are not planning on replacing or repairing this cache. If I am wrong with that assumption, please let me know promptly. Geocache Description:

This 3-part multi-cache is placed with the permission of the Eureka
Springs Parks Department and is one of a series of caches to show
visitors some of the many natural springs located in and around the
city. It is a walking tour of 3 historic springs in the East Mountain
Area.

Parking coordinates N36 23.854 W093 44.105 at Little Lake Eureka - there is little or no parking along the route - so park and take a stroll up and down from the lake. Each stage will contain a piece of a waterproof log with coordinates as well as a hint. No need to sign the stages. the stages are made up of 2 micros and 1 waterproof container with swag - bring some fun stuff and makes some nice trades!

This group of Springs starts near the south end of "Water Street" which is rumored to be the original entrance into the city of Eureka Springs.
Today Water Street is a rough trail that leads from Flint Street
ascending up to Little Lake Eureka and is designated a city park.

Cave Spring reservation was established in 1886 and is named Cave because the spring discharges inside a small cave. There is a very early and difficult to read inscription on the header of this cave dated 1887.
The mountain area behind this spring is a part of this reservation.

In the early days Little Eureka Spring was noted for it's low mineral
content. Because of it's slow flow it is believed that the spring's
water comes from a split stream, part of which flows into the Carrie
Nation Spring. This spring’s water gained fame when it took second
prize at the Saint Louis World’s Fair as the “purest water in the
world.” The Little Eureka Spring Reservations was established in 1886,
but it's name appears on the listing of springs dating from 1880.

The site of Laundry Spring was named as early as 1879 in a city
survey. By 1885 this area was crowded with wood structures and this
spring created an overflow spring over the rock ledges that was
accessible to townspeople as a source of water for household chores
and a laundry house was established below the spring. The city quickly
passed an ordinance to protect the springs by prohibiting laundry from
being done above the springs. The spring cave was once filled with
onyx that was removed over the years to produce local souvenirs - from
1903 until 2003 the spring was named Onyx Cave for this feature, it's
name was restored to Laundry Spring in 2003.

Please note - no parts of this multi-cache are placed in the
maintained gardens around the springs, if the gardens are damaged by
geocachers the Parks Department will ask to have the caches removed.
Please be respectful of any plantings - enjoy Eureka Springs and come
back to see us often!

Please replace each stage of the cache exactly as found so that they
are not visible to passers by. For a longer walking tour be sure to do this multi-cache in conjunction with GC20NX2 and experience the whole East Mountain Spring Loop!
There is a fun container of goodies for the FTF!
Congrats to Topgun and Marty for the FTF - big day!
