Geocache Description:

THE CACHE IS NOT AT THE LISTED COORDINATES. This is JayBirder's Roost cache. After many years of challenging cachers, the multi required some TLC. Sadly the Mourning Dove that initiated the journey is missing! So you will need to embark on a new journey to find your way to the missing Mourning Dove that is JayBirder's Cache!

THE CACHE IS NOT AT THE LISTED COORDINATES.

Location: The above coordinates are to the main entrance to the Greenway System. Welcome to the “Wolf River Environmental Restoration Greenway Trail System”. The surrounding 2200 plus acres of Bottomland Hardwood Forest and adjoining old cotton fields on the north side of the Wolf River makeup this great greenway. Today the trail system is bordered on the east by Collierville-Arlington Rd and goes westward approximately 5 miles to Bethany Rd. There are two parking areas to take advantage of. The first is just beyond the main entrance to the greenway off of Collierville-Arlington Rd about three quarters of a mile north of the Wolf River Bridge. The second is at the Wolf River bridge on the southbound side of Collierville-Arlington Rd. The third area which was at the end of Bethany Rd. is now off limits and posted no parking. Choose wisely in your determination of where to park.

The forest is full of birds. These bottoms hold a plethora of bird life through out the year, especially during spring and fall migration. Summer and winter have it’s extremes but there are still year round residents about the bottoms, many which are rarely seen but occasionally heard. This cache was developed from JayBirder's hobby of bird watching. Songbirds, Hawks, Waterfowl, Forest birds and wading birds frequent this area. These trails are great for a walk, bike ride or even a ride by horseback through the woods and fields along the Wolf River. Horses have the right of way. Your preferred method of transportation or combination of methods will determine how long of a day(s) you will have enjoying this cache. At times the approach(s) can be dry, wet, or very wet depending on recent weather. Snakes - be aware during the “season”. Rat Snakes, Black Racers, Yellow-bellied Water Snakes, Copperheads and Water Moccasin’s (Cottonmouth) all inhabit and have been readily seen/photographed in these bottoms. Thorns and old barbed wire fences are scattered where you least expect. Younger cacher’s should be watched closely. Although this trail system is safe for all ages, off trail (you didn’t expect easy did you) is another story. Remember Vultures, and there are two types (Turkey and Black) that patrol the skies above, need to eat too.

Cache is available from Dawn to Dusk. Do not visit at night. There is parking available. Be mindful of the horse trailers that are often parked and the leeway they need. The road to the parking is not paved but you do not need a special vehicle to get there.

YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR YOURSELF AND YOUR OWN PERSONAL SAFETY WHEN HUNTING ANY CACHE.

Be careful and have fun!

JayBirder's Roost: This cache was placed in October 2009.  Maintenance in 2022 revealed that the Mourning Dove was missing! In order to get on the right path, you must first find the Looking for Dove Multi Cache GC9RT72. If you are sucessful, you will have all that you need to claim the find for JayBirder's Roost and discover the missing Mourning Dove!

You can validate your puzzle solution with certitude.
