Many years ago, while wandering in the woods north of Baldy
Mountain, I met an unusual gentleman. I must admit that he seemed,
not quite right in the head, but that might have been because he
was almost illiterate. He told me that he was looking for a site
located deep in this forest where strange, maybe nefarious
experimentation were rumoured to have been carried out. This area
as you are aware harboured a POW Camp during World War II, a camp
which morphed into a forest research station after the war. The
story teller suggested that more things then forests may have been
studied here in the early days!
My meeting with this fellow was brief, but he did leave me a
coded message, a few strings of gibberish which I have shown below.
He said it would lead me to the long abandoned site where these
experiments had been carried out. He also said that he had heard
that a small container had been hidden at the site about 1 meter
above the ground so people who found it could record their names
(if they dared) and maybe share their thoughts on what might have
occurred there. Apparently, all you need to decipher the gibberish
is on this page, although I am sure there are aids out there in the
modern world which will speed up the task.

I have never been able to decipher the message, so this
mysterious and secret site remains undiscovered.
