Geocache Description:

NOTICE!! PLEASE REMEMBER YOU ARE ON TOP OF VERY HIGH CLIFFS...........BE CAREFUL. NO NEED TO GO CLOSE TO THE EDGE TO FIND CACHE.

This multi-stage cache brings you to one of the taller waterfalls in New York State. It can be difficult to see because of tree growth, but when the water is running and the leaves are off it is quite impressive. Spring is the best time to view the falls because the water is high with the spring snow melt. Winter is nice too because you can see the frozen falls. The top of the falls actually come out from under the road. This multicache is located near Route 20 at the Cherry Valley (Route 166) Exit. Off road parking is available. There is a bit of a path through the grass to the first stage. This area is at a gorge - CLIFFS IN AREA - BE CAREFUL. Judd's Falls can be seen from the start of this cache. BE CAREFUL!! The second and final stage is a camouflaged Ammo Can. THERE IS NO NEED TO GO NEAR THE GORGE CLIFFS TO FIND EITHER STAGE OF THIS CACHE!! The first stage of this multicache brings you to the top of the gorge and near to several vantage points where you can see the falls. BE CAREFUL - you are on top of a very deep gorge, with no protection from falling off and over the side. Can be slippery with rain, wet leaves, snow or ice. FINDING THE CACHE IS NOT DIFFICULT, NOR IS IT NEAR THE EDGE OF THE CLIFFS. THE FIRST STAGE STAYS ATTACHED. You can open the container while leaving it attached. You do not have to remove the paper inside, you can see the coordinates for the final stage right through the "window" of the container. The second stage is off a trail that brings you down to the bottom of the gorge. You do not go anywhere near the bottom, but if interested one could follow the trail to the bottom and back up to the base of the falls. The cache container is a camoflaged ammo can filled with lots of good stuff. I actually won this ready to place cache and container at a Geocache Event at Glimmerglass State Park (New York) in July 2009 and I am just now getting a chance to place it in celebration of my 100th find. My thanks to Hukilaulau for partnering up with me at that event - we came in third and he gave me the privilege of taking the prize and setting the cache. Have Fun. CONGRATULATIONS! FTF goes to Honeypeople!
