Geocache Description:

Ground level. continue over the bridge to the stile and follow footpath through field.

Public Footpath along the River Roden in Wem. Nice wide path in a pretty area of the town. Path narrows here and can get overgrown but no brambles or nettles.

The name Wamm was of Saxon origin, meaning marshland.

This referred to the area either side of The River Roden that passes through Wem Town.

Wem is a quaint little market town with lovely old buildings and small shops. It does have a large supermarket now but it's set back from the main street, which has a lovely church to look round and a Millenium garden with a bench, if you wish to have a rest after caching.

The cache is placed along the river on a Public Footpath which is a nice flat walk and continues through fields.
There is another cache at the start of this trail which is well worth a visit, and three more in this series.
