Geocache Description:

When will I learn that caches are not allowed in wilderness areas? I've done it before and I did it again.


This cache is placed just outside the Alpine Lakes Wilderness area along the same ridge as Kendall Peak. It used to sit on Kendall Peak which is comfortably inside the wilderness area. I, however, having made a very similar mistake on Kaleetan Peak some years ago didn't notice my mistake until too late.

There are multiple approaches to this cache, but the best is probably from the Pacific Crest Trail. You can also approach from Kendall Peak Lakes, though if you want to check those out it might be better to make that your exit on a loop hike. In any event, be prepared for off-trail travel with cliffs to avoid, brush to beat through, and rocks to fall over. Bring the 10 essentials and a friend.
