Lake Macquarie Live Steam Locomotive Society.
In 1953, two fitters from Cardiff Railway Workshops, Alan
Campbell and Sell Fisher, each decided to build a model steam
locomotive. Very soon a young railway apprentice, Joe Huntley, who
was destined to become a legend in his own right, joined them. The
club was formed.
It operates on the last Sunday of each month, except December,
they have a community day in which they donate our own time to
provide train rides to the public. Run times are approximately 1 pm
to 4 pm—weather permitting—with a 20 minute break for
the drivers at 2.30pm.
Make sure the kids have fully enclosed footwear if you take
them. They are required to ride the trains.
Take the kids and enjoy a day out. If you do attempt it while
the trains are operating stealth is required.
The cache is a 200ml Sistema Container which contains a log and
small swaps. I have made the hide obvious so you can obtain it on a
day when the trains are operating.
