A nice walk through an established leafy park beside the river, just 5km from the CBD. Park either side on Aranui St or The Esplanade, and if you have a K9 geocaching assistant, bring them along for some fetch on the beach.
This grassy area and small sandy beach is often used by water-sports enthusiasts as a home base for their day on the river. It's also one of the few places around Brisbane you can take your dog for a run/swim, so watch out for mugglers, particularly on a week end.
Keep an eye out for a myriad of birds and reptiles, plus fiddler crabs around the mangrove pneumatophores.
