This is an event cache for the Lights, Sights, and Frights event. You will be looking for an ammo can. However, this is also a night cache. This is designed to only be found at night so make sure you have a flashlight. Here's how it works:
Start at the listed coordinates. Shine your flashlight around until you see something light up. That's the reflector. Go stand next to it. Shine the flashlight around, find the next reflector, go stand next to it. Keep repeating this act until you find the end of the reflector trail. You'll know when you've found the end. :)
The reflectors used are designed to be harder to see in the day. They shine with a slightly orangish tint and get harder to see the further away you are. When tested, you should be able to see the next reflector standing no more than 10 feet away from the reflector you are at. There are a couple of spots where bad angles required more than one tack. The end is marked with a collection of tacks located after some short bushwhacking.
The name may not mean much at night, but if you come here during the day, you will see the occasional sign with a name, the word Eagle, and a year. This area is often used by local scouts. The big task for scouts to become Eagle Scouts, the highest rank in scouting, is to design, implement, and report on a service project. The signs represent maintenance work done on the trails by local scouts. The interesting thing is the year on the signs. The signs date back to the 1940's. Just an interesting side note about this park.
Please send me an email if there is any damage to the reflectors. Enjoy.
