Geocache Description:

A nano in the centre of Banchory, at what we think is the last remaining piece of Banchory's railway station.

Banchory railway station was closed in 1966, along with the rest of the Deeside railway, thanks to a certain Dr. Beeching.

Likely as not, the stones of the station were probably carted off to be used in other buildings around town. The only bit of it that remains (as far as I know), can be found in Scott Skinner's Square, an area off the high street in Banchory.

Worth visiting for this cache alone, the square will provide an extra atraction every third Saturday of the month, when you will find the local farmers market taking place (one of the vendors will supply you with beef, black pudding and haggis sausages - exactly as yummy as they sound).

Enjoy!
