Geocache Description:

A multi where you need to get answers from each of the waypoints before the coords to the final are realised!

The walk around the older parts of Little Bowden will take you in a rough figure of 8, where you must amass information from the various waypoints in order to complete the coordinates below. The walk will also take you near to another of my caches (GC1QG43 Little Bowden Park) and Joe's Pub Quiz Micro (GC1RPZW), so if you've not completed any of these before you attempt this one, it might be useful to prepare yourself! Collecting the clues will take approx 30 mins, and then the walk to the cache will take another 15-20 from the final waypoint. The cache location provides a view back towards Little Bowden.

Little Bowden now seemlessly blends in to the larger area of the Leicestershire town of Market Harborough, but it used to be in Northamptonshire. It's home to a lovely little (though recently expanded!) church and two pubs, of which the Cherry Tree is my local! You will also walk past the recently reopened Bell pub (which I don't think is strictly in Little Bowden) and the Oat Hill pub - both of which are recently refurbished. All three pubs offer food.

More information on Little Bowden, which used to be significantly smaller before the building on several hundred houses on the land in between the Kettering & Rockingham Roads, can be found here: (visit link) (this website is independent and I have nothing to do with it, but it seems to provide the best info on the web). They also show a nice map dated 1780 which details more or less the area in which you'll be walking and allows you to switch to a 2007 picture to compare how it has changed - the arrival of the railways is one big change! Map: (visit link) (click on right hand side). If you can help them anymore with information on Little Bowden, I'm sure they'd appreciate your contact.

Right, the walk. The coords listed mark a public (and free) carpark, but if coming by bike or walking, you can go straight to waypoint 1, which is on the southern side of Little Bowden. From there, follow the compass to the next waypoint, it's as simple as that!

The final coords are:

N 52 (H-D)A.(F-G)(H-B)(D-B)
W 000 (D-B)(H-C-B).(A-i)EA

Once you've the coords, prepare for a good 15-20 mins walk to GZ which can almost all be done via quiet parks and paths - though it can be muddy. You're looking for a camouflaged tube. Please rehide well and watch our for muggles, both slow approaching and the quicker arriving type....
