These are my old stomping grounds from the late '80s and early
'90s, where I lived in Daly City, hung out in Pacifica, attended
Westmoor High School and Skyline College and worked at what used to
be called Tanforan Shopping Center. I would ride my bicycle every
day up Sharp Park Rd., and then back down Manor or Hickey towards
my house at the end of Skyline Dr.
So it was nice to be back in the area yesterday visiting Holy
Cross Cemetery and friends up at the top of Sneath Ln. I caught a
couple caches along the way, and decided to hide one along good ol'
State Route 35. Unfortunately, it was pitch black out by the time I
left the party, so I wasn't able to choose quite the ideal spot.
Ah, well. At least the police officer who stopped to check why I
was parked there in the middle of the night was familiar with
geocaching and let me go about my business.
If you're not from the area, plan ahead a little bit and take a
look around. Check out nearby Golden Gate National Cemetery, San
Andreas Lake and the San Francisco County Jails, where some inmates
earn the opportunity for agricultural and livestock management
training.
THE CACHE:
This is a camo'd pill bottle, with a log and a yin & yang
patch for FTF. It should be a relatively quick park & grab.
Just be careful of the traffic (thanks for pointing that out,
Badwaterboy).
Congratulations to
airsax on the FTF!
