An easy access cache, free of muggles, suitable for wheelchairs.
This cache honours the Pankhurst Family who first moved to this locality over 100 years ago. Fletcher James Pankhurst and wife Australia May (nee Forrest) arrived around 1902 and purchased land in the vicinity. Despite difficult times and the occasional “borrowing” of horses by the bushranger “Thunderbolt”, the family prospered. Eldest son Alan Forrest “Lal” Pankhurst developed the dairy property and took a prominent role in local politics. Much respected, he had the privilege of opening this bridge in his honour in 1974. Lal’s descendants still live and work the land nearby, a legacy of true pioneering spirit.
You are looking for a small Systema plastic container, painted black. It contains a log book and a few items to swap. It is suitable for TB as it is quite secure in this location. Please be sure to replace the lid properly to keep the contents dry.
The cache is a joint one with Pankhurst5 who lives nearby. We hope you enjoy it.
