Geocache Description:

Long ago, Truckee was a dairyman’s paradise. There were 15 to 20 dairy farms producing some 60,000 pounds of “premium quality” butter that was sold for “premium prices” in urban markets. These buildings are part of the old McIver Dairy, and are now owned by the Town of Truckee. The house across the street (now part of the nursery) was the dairy house. Built in the 1870’s by C.V. Varney, the dairy was sold to the McIver family, and finally to the nursery in 1999.

The white McBuilding was the old McMilk house for this McDairy, and the other was the McBarn. The McMilk cows use to graze in this McMeadow. Somewhere around here is the McCache. It McMight be accessible all year, and there’s a McHint.

(Congrats to McSheib for McFirst to McFind)
