Rocky Fork is an old Strip Mine, that was dug by Peabody coal, the Missouri Conservation has turned it into a wonderful place to hike and fish.
Rocky Fork creek starts here and flows into Perche Creek north of the mall. There is a nice walking road most of the way to the cache. There is a firing range nearby so if there is somebody target shooting you will hear lots of gun shots, but the range is a good distance away and not in line with the cache! The cache is small and not easily visible, please carefully hide in the same way it was. Thank you to area manager Tim James for his kind permission for this cache. Permit is on file with the Missouri Department of Conservation. I have assured the conservation department that we cachers are good environmental stewards, as such I strongly encourage you to pick up any trash you see.
