FOSS Traditional Cache

NO DIGGING IS ALLOWED AT SCULL SHOALS!!
Friends of Scull Shoals will eventually greet you here as the volunteers aid in the interpretative center development project. Very primitive area. Easy by vehicle of truck, car but just no low Ferrari recommended.as it is gravel road well maintained by the Forest Service.
Geocachers are welcomed and maybe in the future an event will be hosted here............
GEO pups are welcomed on leash but please dispose of droppings wayyyyyyyyy out in the woods away from the walking trails!

The gate/chain/barrier will be in place unless the FOSS members are working or visiting the site. It is a work in progress. You may park in the gravel entrance. A member may come while you are there but even so not all members have the key to unlock the gate.
This trail is named after Dr. Durham's 'Heartleaf'. It is more commonly known now as Wild Ginger or Little Brown Jug. It is evergreen; therefore, one can find the plants at all times of the year, easily found from the heart shaped leaves close to the ground. Dr. Durham used this native plant to treat whooping cough, problems with women's menses, and snake bite. Most of the other plants along this trail are deciduous so only found spring through fall.
