You will need to hike approximately a 1/2 mile to this cache. The terrain is suitable for a off road type bike. Mountain, hybrid, or even BMX. You can also walk it. Parking coordinates are located in Weston Regional Park at the end of Saddle Club Road. There is a obvious opening in the hedges, once through you will see the trail - go to the dirt road and head north. The park is open 8am to dusk. Later if baseball or soccer games are going on.
Once I put this cache out here, I realized it's a long haul for just one cache. So I created the IC27 series so you can make your trip worthwhile!.
I grew up around nature. Spending all my years in Broward County. Swimming in the canals after little turtles, collecting snakes, watching alligators, etc. In 2002 I had a house built on the fringes of the Everglades. The largest man-made ecological preserve on the western border of Weston. Our house looks out over this preserve and to me, it's one of the prettiest sites in urban South Florida.
We can see the stars at night, hear he frogs, birds, etc. Sometimes we camp in our backyard with a tent, other times we'll kayak down the canal and fish. The sunsets are truly magical.
You are looking for a camo container that is large enough to hold travel bugs, coins and other trinkets. You should be able to see it from the dirt road if you look closely. It is not all the way down by the water.
There are plenty of scenic picture taking opportunities here, so bring your camera! But do watch for wildlife. I've seen snakes, rabbits, birds (Blue Herons, Ospreys, Egrets) and even deer on the dirt road. Alligators do roam the water, but cache is not that far down. As always though, use caution and look before grabbing.
