SWE Ni befinner er mitt i Europas störst bevarade funkis-område med 501 villor - alla byggda mellan åren 1933-39. Tanken när Södra Ängby byggdes var att husen skulle vara en del av naturen, vägarna slingrar sig och de gamla träden fick stå kvar. Notera att höga staket och häckar ser man inte mycket av. Sedan 1987 klassat som riksintresse med stort kulturhistoriskt värde. Passa på att promenera runt bland husen som till början ser identiska ut, men faktum är att inte ett enda hus är det andra likt. Gatorna har namn av svenska konstnärer. Funktionalism byggdes helt utifrån funktion med raka linjer, stora fönster i väster och söder, platta tak inspirerade av båtar med ramper, relingar och kommandobryggor. Varför kokosparken? Det ryktas att en ungdom upptäcktes mumsandes ett helt flak kokosbollar här... ENG You are in the middle of Europe's largest preserved area of 501 houses built in functionalistic style - all built between the years 1933-39. The idea for Södra Ängby was that houses should be a part of nature with winding roads and old trees left standing. Note that high fences and hedges are not frequent. Since 1987, Södra Ängby is classified as a national asset with great cultural and historical value. Take the opportunity to stroll around among the houses that look identical at first, but the fact is that not a single house is alike. The streets have names of Swedish artists. Functionalism Built entirely to enhance function with straight lines, large windows facing west and south, flat roofs, inspired by boats.
