Geocache Description:

The cache is a 30 cal ammo box on Core of Engineers property at Lake Shelbyville north of the Bruce-Findlay road.

There is a small parking lot just north of the Coal Shaft Bridge (from which the cache gets it name). The straight line distance from the parking lot to the cache is less than 600 ft and the walking distance is little more. The terrain is rated 3.5 due to steep parts and overgrown parts but the total distance is very short so it's really not that tough.

While there you might want to head to N 39° 32.542' W 088° 40.402' for a great scenic overlook of the lake. This is not required but well worth the effort.

Update: 4-10-02 The cache has been moved to higher ground to protect it from higher water levels in spring and summer. If you thought the hills were steep before, you should try it now! Be VERY careful. Evil grin. Ha ha ha.
