This is located a short distance off Highway 9 between Norman and Tecumseh. HW9 has wide shoulders here, so you can park close, just be careful this a very busy highway. Cache is a large ammo box.
On September 12, 2009 (a rainy, misty and overcast day) we were traveling west bound on HW 9. Our 2007 Dodge truck crested the hill and hydro-planed. The back end swung around, and we left the south side of the highway sliding sideways and a bit backward. We slid 106 feet before hitting the telephone pole on the passenger side, front wheel. We snapped the telephone pole off a couple of feet above the ground. That spun us around where we slid 30 more feet into the cement drainage ditch, which caused our truck to roll and slide on its top some 20 feet before hitting a cedar tree and rolling us back up (wheels down on top of the broken cedar tree). The truck, the telephone pole and the cedar tree didn't survive the crash, but we did. We walked away with bumps and bruises. So, two words of caution: NEVER use your cruise control when the pavement is wet, and ALWAYS buckle up!
Contents: two tee shirts from our favorite places: Pawnee Oklahoma Rodeo and Jackson Hole Wyoming, since I am a long term employee of Budweiser there are numerous trinkets with the Budweiser and Bud Light Logos on them, Souvenir Pennies (like you get at the zoo) from every where, a deck of cards, and several stickers (Monster Energy Drinks, American Eagle etc). The log book has a pen (from the chiropractor my wife went to see after the wreck) and is in the pouch my owner's manual was in!
First to Find will get a $20 gift card from Sonic (because the manager at the Tecumseh Sonic and his wife came and helped us and gave us a ride home to OKC)
