A short hike from the parking lot in Rotary Park, Ajax. Follow the Waterfront Trail and veer off over the bridge on an established grassy trail. Cache is a small lock and lock container that will only fit a few small items and a tiny log sheet.
I have long been attracted to Inukshuit. To me, they represent the north, wilderness, and adventure. Inukshuk, the singular of inuksuit, means "in the likeness of a human" in the Inuit language. They are monuments made of unworked stones that are used by the Inuit for communication and survival. The traditional meaning of the inukshuk is "Someone was here" or "You are on the right path." They frequently mark the trail across a featureless landscape. An inukshuk can be small or large, a single rock, several rocks balanced on each other, round boulders or flat. Built from whatever stones are at hand, each one is unique. Often, they are in the shape of a human being, with legs, a body, arms and a head.

Please post photos of inukshuit you have come across on your geocaching travels. Within 3 metres of the cache, beside a woodpile, you will find a collection of stones which were originally placed as an inukshuk. Enjoy this wonderful conservation land and keep an eye out for deer that frequent the meadow. FTF Prize is an unactivated inukshuk geocoin. CONGRATULATIONS TO GEODR CACHERS: KY.M.GUY, GEOGENIUS, ADDICTED2CACHE, SKYECAT, AND GPS DEREK FOR JOINT FTF! Thanks for posting some amazing inukshuk photos to start the cache gallery.... WOW!
