Geocache Description:

Along the Bog Meadow Nature Trail. Flat walk, can get muddy at times, swampy in the spring.

This is my first hide - placed to commemorate the upcoming 500th find by NYHiker and 1stMate. You'll have to ford the waters to find this one, although the trail builders already did the hard work by bringing in a bridge. Beavers are trying to flood the bridge - approaching from the west trailhead is only suggested for the brave.

Cache was started with several specimens of plastic reptile, and a Matchbox Rescue Heroes Ford Explorer vehicle. Pencil and log included.

Parking is available off Meadowbrook at 43.077444,-73.699773

(added 1/7/2010) - East trailhead is about 750 feet down the road to the west at 43.076114,-73.702276

This trail is the location of the former railroad from Saratoga out to Saratoga Lake, before the (now endangered) Route 9P bridge was in place across the north end of the lake/creek. Here's a link to Saratoga PLAN for more info on the trail.
