Geocache Description:

You are looking for a small container, camo'd to blend in (use the clue only if you have to - it's a spoiler). This cache was hidden to recognize the final resting place of a man who's name is more famous than he was....

The overgrown cemetery across the street and slightly to the east of here contains the final resting place in an unmarked grave of Mr. Floyd Council (1911-1976) a blues guitarist and practitioner of the 'piedmont sound' which was a popular blues styling of the 1930's. He toured and recorded with Blind Boy Fuller, as well as many others. He began playing in the Chapel Hill, North Carolina area at clubs eventually recording a reported twenty seven songs, and backing Blind Boy Fuller on at least seven. He was considered one of the areas best guitarists. His throat muscles were particially paralysed by a stroke, but he made a final recording in 1970.

It is said that Syd Barrett, an English rocker, named his new band "Pink Floyd" after two names he saw in the liner notes of a 1962 Blind Boy Fuller album - Floyd Council and Pink Anderson (Pink Anderson is buried in Spartanburg, SC)

While finding this cache, also check out the nearby cache by rapideye, 'NC-CACKLE - The Forgotten (GCZTT5)' You can park safely at the now abandoned White Oak AME Zion Church and get to both caches rather easily.

North Carolina Central Area Cache Loggers Enterprise (NC-CACKLE) is a loosely formed group of cachers dedicated to the betterment of Geocaching in the Sanford/Lee County and surrounding areas.
