Face to Face Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Crow-T-Robot: I was going to bring this cache closer to home, but parts of Mr. Smiles have disappeared...so perhaps it's time to retire him for good. It was a good run while it lasted. Thanks to all who have visited and said hello to my smiling friend.

Geocache Description:

The cache is a small pelican container hidden near a hiking trail in Clayton Park. A little bushwacking will be needed once you get near the cache. The container will get buried in snow but there is a friend hanging around who will show you where it's hidden.

Take a hike along the "black" or "yellow" trail. (The trailhead is straight back from the pavilion) and follow either one to the backside of the park before you head off-trail (or you could bushwack the entire way...the choice is yours). At ground zero, you'll find a big tree and some deadfall. Take a gander around the area and see if you can't find something to smile about. When you find yourself "face to face" with Mr. Smiles, turn and look in the direction he is looking. Ahead about 20 feet you will see a tree lying on the ground. Step over that tree and you'll be standing in a "triangle" of downed trees. The container is within that triangle, at ground level. Also, check out someone's handywork right at GZ. I have no idea how they managed to get that branch into the pipe but they did. It's much too big to CITO, so it's still lying there.

There are a few small trade items to start and the container is big enough to hold some swag and trackables. Please rehide the cache as you found it and do not remove Mr. Smiles as that would make me and luluonthego very sad. We hope this cache puts a smile on your dial!

***The last two times I've checked on this cache, Mr. Smiles was having eye problems. If you see him with his eye hanging down, please rehang it so he can see straight. Thanks!***

The main parking lot is closed during the winter months but there is an alternate lot. Turn onto Galaxy Drive and then right onto Yukon Lane.
