This was my first hide ever! I had named it Really Holey cause of where it was placed. It was just a quick easy hide to see how the game is played. I have hidden quite a few more since this one. I have decided to rename this cache Matthew’s Cache.
My two boys had always been friends with Matthew, just another of many friends who had been in my house over the years. They went to elementary school together and up through the years to high school. It all becomes a blur many years later. He was another name in my palm pilot. You know, one of the houses to call when your kids would go to a friend’s house and forget to call dad. All those friends are now in their twenties and call dad all the time, for money that is!
Matthew R. Palmero tragically lost his life on Feb. 1, 2010 at the young age of twenty. My kids were devastated. They had lost two other friends recently. Matthew was taken from us too early. He will be missed! My kids would cut through these woods with Matthew to get to the park on the other side. If you enter the woods from the Boyle Rd. side, you will see a small memorial to Matthew. Please be respectful!! The cache is not near this memorial but you will pass it on the way. Remember life is precious! Good luck hunting!
