Geocache Description:

Our family loves watching the Olympics, and since Vancouver is hosting the 2010 Winter Olympics, we decided to place a short series of Olympic themed caches.

These caches are placed along a section of the L.E. & N. Rail Trail. As in the Olympics, you will have to work for your reward. Bring a pencil and watch for muggles! Two or three cars can park just south of the trailhead.

We ask that you trade fair, "TRADE UP OR TRADE EVEN"! By continuing to play the game this way, other cachers might have a chance to enjoy finding a trackable or other geocaching swag when they visit this cache.

There are seven caches in this series. On the lids of the first six caches you will find letters and a number value. Record these letters and numbers to help you figure out the coordinates for the final cache in the series, "13C13's 2010 Olympic Series - The Closing Ceremony."

*THE OLYMPIC FLAG*
The flag of the Olympic Games has five interlocking rings (blue, yellow, black, green, and red) on a white background. The rings represent the five parts of the world that were joined together in the Olympic movement: Africa, the Americas, Asia, Australia and Europe.

*HISTORY OF THE OLYMPIC FLAG*
Baron Pierre de Coubertin, a French educator and sportsman, revived the Olympic Games in 1896. He designed the flag of the Olympics in 1913-1914.

The flag was first used in the 1920 Olympic Games in Antwerp, Belgium. The Olympic flag is paraded during the opening ceremony of each Olympic Games. At the end of an Olympics, the mayor of the host-city presents the flag to the mayor of the next host-city. The flag will remain in the town hall of the next host-city until the next Olympic Games, four years later.
