Geocache Description:

Vikos View
The Vikos Gorge is a gorge in the Pindus Mountains of northern Greece. It is some 20 km long, and is listed as the deepest gorge in the world by the Guinness Book of Records among others. With walls of up to 1 km in height, the gorge is spectacular. (visit link)

The Cache
Driving to Vikos village, right before the village, on your right there is a stone footpath going downstairs. (You may see a sign “Spring Monastery”). After 150 meters you will see a stone bench and a little church. Right behind the bench there is a rock (see attached photos).

Παρατηρητήριο του Βίκου
Το Φαράγγι του Βίκου, βρίσκεται 30 χλμ. βορειοδυτικά των Ιωαννίνων και είναι το βαθύτερο φαράγγι παγκοσμίως, σύμφωνα με το βιβλίο Guinness. Αποτελεί τον πυρήνα του Εθνικού Δρυμού Βίκου-Αώου, στην περιοχή του οποίου βρίσκει καταφύγιο μεγάλη ποικιλία σπάνιων ειδών χλωρίδας και πανίδας. (visit link)

Η Κρύπτη
Φτάνοντας στο χωριό Βίκος, ακριβώς πριν το χωριό, στο δεξί σας χέρι υπάρχει ένα πέτρινο μονοπάτι που οδηγεί προ τα κάτω. (Μπορεί να δείτε πινακίδα «Πηγές Παναγιάς»). Κατεβαίνοντας το μονοπάτι στα 150 μέτρα περίπου θα δείτε ένα πέτρινο παγκάκι και ένα εκκλησάκι. Ακριβώς πίσω από το παγκάκι θα δείτε μια πέτρα (δείτε συνημμένες φωτογραφίες).
