Catwalk Meander Multi-Cache

This cache has been archived.

ROTSIP: No response from the owner to the maintenance reminder submitted 9 months ago.
This cache appears to be gone. As there has been no cache to find for months, and it seems unlikely that it will be replaced soon, I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements.
If you wish to repair/replace the cache sometime in the future, just contact us (by email, quoting the GC number), and assuming it meets the guidelines, we'll be happy to unarchive it.
Thanks for the past fun.

Geocache Description:

An easy walk along the promenade from Fish Hoek beach to Sunny Cove.

Due to the number of muggles around, particularly in high season, the best time to do this cache is early morning or late afternoon, but no matter when you do it, a great amount of stealth (and patience) may be required while retrieving and replacing the cache.

Jager's Walk, more affectionately know as "The Catwalk" by locals, was named after the first mayor of Fish Hoek, Herman Scott Jager. It follows the rocky coast line from the southerly end of Fish Hoek beach to Sunny Cove.

During the summer months between 8am and 4pm there is a nominal fee to park at the beach or you can park outside and walk onto the beach through the main entrance or one of several pedestrian entrances along Simon's Town road. At all other times you can drive in and park at no cost.

1. Take a Seat ~ S34° 08.517 E018° 25.979
At this location you will find a spot named after a bird that is also the nickname given to people who spend half the year in SA and the other half in the UK, of which there are many living in Fish Hoek. The number of letters for each word will give you A B C.

2. Skellies Pool ~ S34° 08.586 E018° 26.119
This next location is affectionately known as "Skellies Pool". So named because of Skeleton Rock on the far side. Except for very high tide and rough weather, this natural tidal pool is safe for children and is a favourite spot for them to get their first experiences of snorkeling in the sea. There is a wooden structure here. D is the number of uprights on the seaward side. On a nearby sign, E is the number of prohibited actions on the second row.

3. Dolphin Quiz ~ S34° 08.621 E018° 26.195
You are now approaching the end of the Catwalk and an ideal spot to sit and watch the Seals, Dolphins and Whales that play along our coast. During whale season, between June and November, this is one of a handful of places between Muizenberg and Cape Point where the water is deep enough close in shore, that the whales will come in very close to watch the strange two legged mammals staring back at them. Nearby is a series of three information boards. From the information here answer the following. The largest local dolphin can weigh as much as F tonnes and swim at speeds of up to G5 Km/h.

You can now find the cache at the following coordinates...

S34° 0B.(A+E)D(F-A) E018° 2(C+2).(G-E)2G

Please be aware that this is a high muggle area, especially in season, so stealth is required when searching for, retrieving and replacing the cache.
