GC Mala vodna elektraren
Vodna elektraren Madunice patri medzi akumulacne-kanalove vodne elektrarne. S vystavbou
sa zacalo v roku 1956, dokoncena a nasledne uvedena do prevadzky bola o styri roky neskor.
Vo vodnom diele su nainstalovane tri Kaplanove turbiny s prietokom 3x92m3 za sekundu, o vykone
43,2MW s priemernou rocnou kapacitou vyroby elektrickej energie 147,8GWh. Odpadovy kanal usti
do koryta Vahu nad Hlohovcom
Samotna elektraren je umiestnena pod nadrzou Slnava na dolnom toku Vahu medzi mestami
Piestany a Hlohovec. Pri vystavbe vodneho diela bola dolezitou ulohou ochrana kupelnych
zriediel v Piestanoch. Vystavbou elektrarne sa dokonca zvysila vydatnost liecivych pramenov
a tvorba lieciveho bahna pouzivanych v kupeloch, takze bolo mozne podstatne zvysit pocet rocne
liecenych pacientov.
Jedna sa o viacucelove vodne dielo a okrem energetickeho vyuzitia plni aj dalsie funkcie:
- odbery vody na chladenie reaktorov atomovych elektrarni v Jaslovskych Bohuniciach
- odbery vody na zavlahy polnohospodarskych pozemkov
- ciastocne znizenie prietokov velkych vod v koryte Vahu pod hatou
- ochranu podohospodarsky vyuzivanych pozemkov a intravilanu obci pred povodnami (cca 4500ha)
- rekreacne, sportove vyuzitie a chov ryb
Okrem uvedeneho, vzhladom na zemepisnu polohu, velku vodnu plochu a specificky priaznive
podmienky pre vtactvo, bola zdrz pri hati Drahovce v roku 1980 vyhlasena za chranenu studijnu
oblast. Na umelo vybudovanom ostrove “Cajka“ medzi povodnym korytom Vahu a kanalom Vahu hniezdia
a zimuju vzacne arkticke i teplomilne druhy vtactva. Na spominanom odpadovom kanaly pod elektrarnou
sa konavaju preteky v Love ryb udicou (LRU) na miestnej, europskej a dokonca aj na svetovej urovni!
Ak budete mat cas a chut, mozete sa ist prejst na nedaleke strkoviska, ktore su idealnym miestom
na oddych, kupanie, stanovanie, rybarcenie a v zime na korculovanie. (cca 1km)
V dobe bujnej vegetacie sa obtiaznost terenu na poslednych troch metroch mierne zvysi, ale nic,

GC Small hydroelectric power plant
In this cache we would like to show you small,but very important hydroelectric power
plant and it´s beautiful surrounding area.
Hydroelectric power plant Madunice is ranked among the electric storage-duct power plants.
The building of hydroelectric power plant started in 1956. It was finished and thereafter put
into operation four years later.There are three Kaplan´s turbines installed in this storage plant,
with water passage 3x92m3 per second and capacity 43,2MW. The produced amount of electric energy
is147,8GWh per year on average. The waste channel empties into the river basin of Vah, over the
town Hlohovec.
The Hydroelectric power plant is situated under the water reservoir of Slnava, on lower reach
of river Vah, between two towns Piestany and Hlohovec. During the architecture of this storage plant,
the protection of balneal fountains in Piestany was very important issue.
The power plant building even increased efficiency
of hot sources and creation of hot muds, which were used in Piestany spa. Therefore it was possible
substantiallyincrease the amount of patients per year.
This storage plant is multi-use and apart from energetic utilizationalso subserves in these roles:
- water import for reactor cooling of Nuclear power plant in Jaslovske Bohunice
- water import for irrigation of agricultural lands
- partial reduction of water discharge in basin of the Vah river under spillway-dam
- protection of agricultural lands and some village areas in case of floods
- utilization for recreation, sport and fish breeding
In regard of geografic location, a massive water surface and specifically favourable conditions for
birdlife, was this reservoir near Drahovce water-gate declared in 1980 as protected educational area.
On a subnatural island called "seagull" between the basin of Vah river and the waste channel of hydroelectric
power plant, variety of precious arctic and also thermophilic birds are nesting and hibernating.On this waste
channel, there is also held a meeting in rod fishing on local, european and even worldwide level !
So if you have got a time and liking, you can go for a walk into the nearest gravel banks, that they are
a perfect spotfor relax, swimming, camping, fishing, in winter for ice skating. (approx. 1km).
During growing vegetation the difficulty of terrain will gently increase in last three meters, but it´s nothing
