Cache is located within about 70-80 metres from the nearest parking area. It is located along one of the path, and is easily accessible flat concrete ground.
This area has been closed to the public for over 10 years, i used to enjoy regular picnics out here with my family, and am glad its finally re-opened as i can now bring my kids out here for picnics.
Cache is a cube container, about 2x2 inches and is black and around the "non-path" side so if you squat to retrieve it your cover shouldnt be blown !
Taking photos and reading the histroy plaques should give you sufficient cover for this one.
Access to these grounds is between 8am and 5pm weekdays and 8am and 6pm Weekends. Sundays can be quite busy, but through the week you basically have the place to yourself.
NOTE : The cache is not burried, or hidden deep, and should be partly visible. Please be carefull and put it back as best you can the way you found it.
Contains a small log , but you will need your own pencil.
Now the history lesson.... More than 2.5 millions tonnes of aggregate and sand were brought here on a 20km long "aerial ropeway" from McCann;s Island Quarry on the Nepean River near Penrith. Thats a long way !
